> Unique Music Player < Nokia announced the new 5310 XpressMusic feature phone. This super-slim S40 candybar handset measures up at 9.9mm thick and weighs a very feathery 70g. Nokia claims that the 5310's battery should provide for up to 18 hours of music playback, which is a good thing since the phone supports microSD cards of to 4GB in capacity (roughly 3000 WMA songs). Like its cousin, the 5300 XpressMusic slider, the 5310 has dedicated music controls located along its left edge. In terms of playback, the 5310 XpressMusic is compatible with both stereo Bluetooth headphones as well as normal 3.5mm jack equipped stereo headphones.
Other features of the 5310 XpressMusic include a 2", 16 million color QVGA (240x320 pixel) display, a built-in FM radio, and IMAP4/POP/SMTP email support. Unlike the new 5610 XpressMusic slider that was unveiled at the same time, the 5310 only supports tri-band GSM/EDGE (900/1800/1900MHz) and lacks 3G connectivity at all. Like the 5610, though, the 5310 XpressMusic is compatible with side-loaded music purchased from the newly announced Nokia Music Store.
> Thinner Than Ever <In the hand, the Nokia 5310 feels extremely solid. Despite its thin design, the device feels durable and the color schemes combined with excellent feeling aluminum sides give the device a classy, yet understated look. The music control keys are also well embossed, making them simple to find when the device is in a pocket or purse, and the location of the 3.5mm headphone jack on the top of the phone helps ensure cables do not get snagged. The screen is also beautifully bright and clear - a trait this device shares with the other handsets launched at Go Play today.
